I have non-rx sunglasses, is it possible to make them into prescription sunglasses?

I have Ray-Bans RB4091 sunglasses, they aren't available as prescription shades, and I love them too much to give them up. They are shield sunglasses, so they have one lens. Is it possible to take them into an eye doctor's office and make them into prescription sunglasses? Maybe some other way? Or would I just have to get contact lenses?

  1. You can always go to the doctors office and ask. Maybe you can find some glasses that have the sam style lens and maybe use your frame.

  2. No, there is no way to put Rx lenses in that model.

As you said though, you could wear them over contacts.
